About Mrs. Darlene Huston, licensed Kindermusik instructor and Illinois Teacher
Mrs. Darlene has extensive training and experience in music and the education of young children. She is a
licensed Kindermusik instructor, an Illinois state licensed Early Childhood Teacher and also owns and operates
a state licensed home child care.
Mrs. Darlene began her musical experiences prior to entering grade school by learning how to play the piano.
She continued her piano lessons through high school. From grade school on, she has enjoyed learning the
proper ways to sing and has shared her musical talents with those around her through the various choirs she
joined throughout the years. She currently sings in 2 church choirs and cantors (solos) for the same churches.
She has been taking voice lessons with Mrs. Elayna Mitchell Swearingen, voice coach and adjunct professor of
Music at Louis University, Bolingbrook since 2008. Kindermusik licensing was achieved in 2009.
Mrs. Darlene started teaching and working with young children educationally in 1990 at Joliet Jr. College,
through classes and their Child Care Center. After receiving her Associates as a Teacher's Aid and Special
Needs Aid, she worked in local school systems while continuing to earn her BA in Early Childhood Education
and receiving a Type 04 Teaching Certificate for children Birth through 3rd grade. She taught a local private
school until she opened American Butterflies Home ChildCare in 2005.

ABC Music & Me an award-winning enrichment program for 2 to 6 year olds, was designed
for early childhood learning centers, but can also be taught in a Kindermusik classroom. American Butterflies
offers it both in the childcare setting and in the studio classroom. Each month a new theme is offered.

Newborn - Adult
Family Time brings adults and children of all ages together, providing a dynamic and
integrated musical learning experience for everyone.
Tell Me More When are Family Time classes offered?
Each class includes 'take home' materials which can include: a CD of songs used, books, musical instruments, informational cards, and puppets.
Discounts for enrollment in multiple classes simultaneously. Extension of number of weeks class is offered may be offered at a discounted weekly rate.
Other Kindermusik studios and instructors may offer different classes, prices will vary.
